My Favorite Cincinnati & NKY Wedding Venues (And a Few on My Bucket List)

The Inn at Oneonta, Melbourne, KY.

Choosing a wedding venue sets the tone for your entire day — not just how it looks, but how it feels. As a wedding photographer based in the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area, I’ve had the chance to photograph weddings in a wide range of spaces, from historic landmarks to modern hotels and art-filled venues.

Below are a few Cincinnati & NKY wedding venues I’ve photographed and truly loved, along with a handful that are high on my personal wish list. This isn’t meant to be an exhaustive list — just an honest, experience-based roundup of spaces that photograph beautifully and offer something special.

Venues I’ve Photographed & Loved

The Monastery Event Center — Cincinnati, OH

The Monastery is one of those venues that feels instantly timeless. With its historic architecture, arched windows, and moody, romantic atmosphere, it’s perfect for couples drawn to old-world charm and classic elegance. I especially love how the light filters through the windows during the day and how intimate the space feels once the sun sets. The staff of the Monastery is also unmatched. They run a tight ship, and will make sure your day runs absolutely seamlessly, so you can enjoy the day you’ve spent so long planning.

Marmalade Lily is such a special space — warm, charming, and full of thoughtful details that make it feel both intimate and elevated. It’s the kind of venue that encourages connection and presence, allowing the day to unfold naturally without feeling rushed or overly formal. The space photographs beautifully, especially for couples who value atmosphere and intention over scale.

A huge part of what makes weddings here so wonderful is the coordination. Claire, their coordinator, is truly phenomenal — attentive, calm, and incredibly thoughtful. Having someone like her guiding the day makes a noticeable difference, and it creates such a smooth, relaxed experience for everyone involved.

What I Look for in a Wedding Venue (as a Photographer)

When helping couples think through venue options, these are a few things I always consider:

  • natural light throughout the day

  • flexible indoor and outdoor options

  • good flow between ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception

  • spaces that feel calm, not rushed

The right venue supports the rhythm of the day and allows moments to unfold naturally.
